Sustaining an attitude of gratitude is not as simple as figuring out one part of your life. Being mindful of the many coexisting variables in our nuanced lives allows us to create an ongoing spirit of gratefulness. Life is kind of like pieces of a pie, and one of the most significant pieces of the pie is family. The hard part about family is that we often expect perfection, but we know their flaws too well and end up disappointed. We all experience different levels of gratitude with our family based on our upbringing, our current lot in life, and our expectations. Even if there isn’t a bucket full of things to be grateful for in your family (upbringing or current), finding a sliver of value will help fuel your attitude for gratitude.
