Having it all figured out is something that we seem to understand isn’t possible, and yet we tend to behave as if not having everything figured out is somehow wrong. We expect to be better at something without having first been worse at it. We expect to get to the top of a mountain without the challenge of climbing it. And we expect to have the experience of overcoming something without first facing challenges.
